I have always been fascinated by clocks. My first “real” clock was a grandfather clock that my father made for me. It was made out of cherry wood and have German movements. I loved watching the pendulum swing back and forth. The West Minister chimes are very soothing to the ear.
Several years later, I received a cuckoo clock from the Black Forest of Germany. Our German exchange student family gave it to me. The carvings are beautiful and well the little cuckoo bird that pops out. The sound of the cuckoo bird always brings a smile to the faces of visitors the first time they hear it.
